Stellastarr* - Civilized (2009)

We are so happy to announce that the long awaited 3rd album from stellastarr* is finally on its way. Civilized, the follow-up to 2005’s Harmonies for the Haunted and 2003’s eponymous debut, is slated for a July 7th release on stellastarr*s own Bloated Wife Records.

Stellastarr*, New York City based is composed of Shawn Christensen (vocals, rhythm guitar), Amanda Tannen (bass, vocals), Arthur Kremer (drums, percussion, keyboards), and Michael Jurin (lead guitar, vocals). The band formed in March 2000, played their first gig in July and released a limited series of independent/homemade EP CDs shortly thereafter. They have toured with (among others) Jane's Addiction, The Raveonettes, Placebo, The Killers, and Editors thru the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Europe.

They are currently in Brooklyn finishing up their third album, Civilized which will be released July 7th via their new imprint Bloated Wife/ILG Records, named after the first song they ever wrote. The songs "Warchild," "The People," "Numbers," and "Graffiti Eyes" have been previewed on their Myspace page. All four tracks are on the album. Civilized, is the follow-up to 2005's Harmonies for the Haunted.
