Carina Round - Things You Should Know EP (2009)

Things You Should Know is the new EP from British singer/songwriter Carina Round. The EP is a stepping stone before the musician releases a new album funded by fan donations, as is the latest trend.

The songs on the 5-track EP are moody and atmostpheric.

The opener "Backseat" features an incredibly patient build into a explosive epiphany ending. "Please Don't Stop" is an ominous soundtrack, bordering on Gothic. "Do You" comes across as a lost Mazzy Star track.

Round's lovely voice is the focal point of these songs. While she does not have a tremendous range or super distinctive delivery, her singing style is perfectly suited to the music.

Things You Should Know bodes well for the full length album.
